It's not that the Dolphins are doing poorly going into their fourth game of the season. With a 2-1 record going into a game against division rival and the undefeated Buffalo Bills the Dolphins' ownership hoped to make a big statement in a division that came down to the wire in 2008.
The ownership never got the chance to make that statement however, as the UMFL was the one making the statement by essentially "booting" ownership out for what many hope to be a more "UMFL friendly" regime.
Out with the old in with the...somewhat new.
New Dolphins Owner, Michael Rouchka (a.k.a. Rouchicus) started his 2009 Season about 5 hours North of Miami in Tampa Bay. Due to circumstances out of his control, he was "forced" to leave his job and wait for another team to come calling. Enter the Dolphins.

The details for the first patch for Madden have been released by EA. Included in the list are atleast 2 things that excite me. The fact that they have changed ranked online games to 7 minute quarters and the removal of holding on field goal attempts. Not sure how some of the other tweaks will affect gameplay but im eager to see what they mean by tuned broken tackle chances. Well anyways here is the list:
- Added Super Bowl and Playoff field conditions in Online Franchise Fixed false start griefing issue with online games
- Fixed video player issues (sometimes video would hang) in Online area
- Improved quality of uploaded video highlights
- Switched ranked online games to seven minute quarters
- Random stability fixes
- Added broadcast camera
- Tuned slider effectiveness
- Made fatigue affect ratings more
- Tuned broken tackle chances
- Reduced/removed holding on kick attempts
- Improved-toe drag catch logic
- General pursuit improvements
- Man coverage improvements
- Fixed double pass online exploit

Free Agency to Open Tuesday |

Free Agency for the UMFL will effectivelly open at 8PM EST on Tuesday September 1st. I encourage people to be active because this moves along frantically. If their is someone you want be sure to be active in the bidding process, delaying your bids only makes it more hectic and time consuming. The list is not as grand as some of the UMFL veterans are used to this time of year, perhaps that is attributed to the new ranking system for players and their lowered overall ratings.
In any case be sure to not miss out on this, you should be trying to check the site every 12 hours if you want to make sure you dont lose a guy to another team. Also trades are officially open for buisness, just remember both parties have to post they agree and it has to be approved by a commisioner before it can be processed on the online franchise.
